The Women`s Center of Southeastern Michigan

The Women’s Center is a privately-funded Ann Arbor counseling center unaffiliated with the U-M. Services include low-cost personal and group counseling, job coaching, divorce support, legal consultations, financial counseling, tax assistance, educational/support groups, and resource identification and referral. Therapists are volunteer clinicians and graduate student interns in counseling and social work from 8 different universities. Ninety percent of Women`s Center clients are dealing with anxiety, depression, poor self-esteem and other symptoms stemming from challenging life situations. If you are among the 2.6 to 10 percent of the adult population with a severe and persistent mental illness, you must be receiving medical supervision in order to qualify for counseling. Although services are specifically designed for women and girls, men and boys participate in all but the divorce-related programs.
