Step 3: Planning for Treatment and Support

Though stress management and other self-care strategies are important tools for keeping yourself healthy, they are not always enough.  It is also important to have a plan for receiving treatment and support from others.  If you are under the care of a mental health provider at home, he or she may be able to help you make the transition to a treatment and support plan based in Ann Arbor.

Remember: It is much easier to learn about your treatment options BEFORE you’re in the middle of a crisis. Make sure you have a treatment and support plan in place.

  • Become familiar with the many mental health treatment and support resources offered at the University and in the Ann Arbor community.
  • If you’re already receiving care at home, arrange with your healthcare provider to transfer your care to the Ann Arbor area.
