Using Campus Mind Works To Help Your Residents
Website: The website simplifies access to the wide variety of mental health and academic support resources at the University of Michigan, and provides information to help students stay healthy and manage college life. Use the website to:
- Provide resources to students about how to help themselves or a friend
- Help someone navigate paying for mental health services
- Discover mental health resources & tools that can help them with things such as finding a therapist, preparing for their first appointment, setting goals, or tracking their mood.
- Understand mental illnesses and debunk mental health myths
- Find treatment providers
Wellness Groups: On the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, from October to April, CMW hosts free education/support groups in classrooms on North and Central Campus – great for students who are looking for extra support between appointments, or who are more comfortable seeking information and support in a non-clinical setting. Sessions begin with a brief presentation, followed by a support group facilitated by a social worker. Pizza is served! For a list of upcoming dates and topics, visit the groups page.
Schedule a presentation for your residence hall: Contact Lizelle Salazar if you are interested in scheduling a presentation. We can work with you to tailor a presentation suited to the needs of your residents (or fellow staff members), including:
- How to recognize signs/symptoms of depression and/or anxiety;
- Strategies for prevention, self-care, and help-seeking;
- How to support fellow students with mental health disorders;
- Campus mental health resources and other support services.
